One of the great joys of our modern world is the abundance of opportunities to make friends with people that you might never meet. I will be posting at some point soon about my podcast pals, here I want to briefly reflect on a recent episode of my weekly radio show (Tuesdays from 7 – 9 PM ET on wrkc.kings.edu ) I don’t remember for sure where/when/how I discovered the podcast called 50 Years of Music With 50 Year Old White Guys (you can find it here – https://electracast.com/podcast/50-years-of-music-w-50-year-old-white-guys/ ) I am certain that I learned of it over on twitter and was hooked right away by the name of the show. It is a delightful hang. The three fellas on the pod are fun to listen to and their interactions are genuinely entertaining. One of them is also a recording artist and he recently released some music and he tossed out the idea that he’d be happy to talk to me about his music if I wanted to play some on my show. I’ve featured Jeff’s music on my show before and jumped at the opportunity to chat with him. Our little old studio does not have the tech for running a phone call online so I recorded a conversation with him on Zoom and edited parts of that conversation into my radio show. I am no master editor, but I think I did alright. He is an engaging person and a talented musician. I was SUPER happy to spend time with him and shine a spotlight on him on my show. I played three of his songs and allowed him to pick a three song set. He discussed the songs I selected of his and he introduced the next three song set. I wanted to take a moment here to thank him for his art, his time, and the podcast he is part of. I also want to urge all of you to check him and his podcast out. Below is my setlist for the night and then the audio link of my show.
